On Sunday March 10, 2024, Tibetan Association of Southern California with other Activists and Supporters from various organizations gathered on the sidewalks across from Chinese Consulate, Los Angeles to commemorate 65 years of resistance, since 1959, when thousands of Tibetans took to the streets of Lhasa to rise up against China’s illegal invasion and occupation of their homeland.  Speakers, Tenzing Chonden la and Tao Dhamcho la, spoke about the significance of the day & showed the Chinese Government that the spirit of Tibetans who rose up 65 years ago grows stronger every day.

The Peaceful Protest & the Walk for Freedom included members and friends from all participating organizations walking through Wilshire Blvd with signs and banners. The objective of the Walk being to commemorate 65 years of resistance, stand in solidarity with the Tibetan people to show them that they are not alone, to raise awareness about the continued human rights violations & repressive policies of the Chinese Government and to urge the US Administration and Congress to help resolve the issue of Tibet.
